Hypokloritlösningar (example, chlorine), which is produced by solving the chlorine in an alkaline aqueous solution, has been used for almost 100 years for disinfection and bleaching. These funds are inexpensive and effective, but unfortunately reacts chlorine in use with organic compounds during the formation of toxic and foul-smelling/– tasting organochlorine compounds, of which the most famous are assorted klordioxiner and substances that give wine a taste of "cork".

For this reason, the Swedish paper industry has completely abandoned chlorine bleaching, which has been replaced by bleaching with hydrogen peroxide (all in Sweden now buys the brown coffee filters from unbleached paper and chlorine pulp is forbidden in diapers). Green Peace ' action against PVC (produced from ethylene and chlorine) is part of a general campaign against industrial use and production of chlorine.

It may be thought that small-scale use of hypochlorite is not a problem, but in total this is also a case of very large quantities, which make a major contribution to the pollution of organochlorine compounds. Of course, we must all stand up and end the use of hypochlorite, especially as there are full alternatives (peroxides) without the same harmful environmental impact. And remember. When a mögelhus is cleaned up with a klorbaserat agent, the same amount of dioxin is formed on treated surfaces as in a chlorine diaper or a chlorine coffee filter.

It may not be a concern for the remediator, but would you as a customer accept that a remediation leaves behind dioxins? Strangely enough, many consultants, who are firmly opposed to any "chemistry", recommend the use of hypochlorite in mould remediation when there are more environmentally friendly alternatives.
