Odour removal

Odor remediation
-removing bad odors

Odour remediation is about removing unpleasant odours. Spaces and furnishings that have been in use for a long time or that have been exposed to strong odours from, for example, rubbish disposal, cooking or cigarette smoking, need to be odourised to restore them to their normal condition. Odour remediation methods are numerous and can be combined to achieve the desired effect. Some common odour remediation methods are:

  • Demolition
  • Cleaning
  • Disinfection by oxidation
  • Disinfection by microbial degradation

Our products remove odors - without environmental risks

At Alron, we develop odor removal products based on modern research and technology that remove odors in a health and environmentally conscious way. Our philosophy for odor remediation is to attack the odor at its source and thus remove bad odors with products made from nature's own resources. Our sanitizers are therefore based on naturally occurring peroxides and microorganisms rather than synthetically produced preparations.

Well-sorted range for odour remediation

After 45 years in the business, we have accumulated a solid and broad knowledge of odour remediation. This has resulted in a unique range of peroxide-based products that are highly effective, environmentally friendly and free from unhealthy chemical residues.

Our quality ambitions are to be a professional supplier of unique and environmentally friendly chemical and biological products.

How does it work?

The process of odour remediation can look very different and therefore requires different types of remediation products. Below we simplify the odour remediation process for mouldy smells and the products and techniques you can use.

Removing mouldy smells

  1. First and foremost, make sure that the source (moisture) of the problem is fixed.
  2. Treat all surfaces with mold growth. Saturate the material with Penetrox (porous material) or with Odox (smooth, non-absorbent surfaces) to kill mold and remove mold odor. (In order to have a safety margin, the immediate area around the mold growth, 20-40cm, should also be treated).
  3. Tear out/replace materials with visible mould growth where practical and/or economically feasible.
  4. After drying, mould residues are washed away with Alron Citrox, or an alkaline cleaner such as Soot 2
  5. The smell from mold damage easily spreadsto its surroundings and can contaminate "healthy" materials. This means that mold odors can persist for several years after the damage has been repaired. It is therefore very effective to decontaminate the space 3-dimensionally using a dry sweep to remove remaining odors. In case of weak diffuse odor, the space is grouted with Odox-DF (furnished rooms) or in case of strong odor with Maxox-DF (unfurnished rooms) with a Thermfogger Type III (homes/villages etc.) or a Patriot Pulsjet Fogger (warehouses, industrial halls etc.).

We at Alron are very proud to offer world-class services and products that remove odors and microbial growth in an environmentally friendly, effective and natural way.
