Fire restoration

Fire restoration - A necessary measure after a fire

Fire restoration is a critical process carried out to restore areas affected by fire. It is not only about taking care of the visible damage, but also about eliminating the invisible threats such as bad odors and harmful substances. Our fire restoration products reduce material damage and restore your home or business to its previous condition.

How does it work?

The process of fire restoration can be different and therefore requires different products. This list provides a brief overview of how it can be done and which products you should use.

1. clean

Start by cleaning the area with an alkaline cleaner with a pH value between 9 and 13. For most surfaces, Sot 2 or C-Fix PRO is recommended. For sensitive materials, Sot 1 is a better choice.

2. Sanitize odors

If strong odors persist after the first cleaning, do a more in-depth odor remediation. Porous and absorbent surfaces are treated with Penetrox, while smooth, non-absorbent surfaces are treated with Odox.

3. Sanitize odors (special)

For larger or inaccessible spaces indirectly affected by soot, it is recommended to fog with either oxidizing agents (Maxox-DF, Odox-DF) to quickly neutralize the odor, or odor modifiers (Odor Control, Odor Control-DF) to effectively encapsulate and conceal the odor.

4. Grouting the space

Maxox-PF and Odox-DF are applied by thermal fogging to create a fine, "dry" aerosol that hangs in the air and actively breaks down odor particles by oxidation. Odour Control DF captures and encapsulates odour particles, which are then neutralized more slowly by air oxidation. For a "wet" aerosol effect, Odor Control can be applied using microjet technology.

5. finishing

After decontamination, the Odor Control agents can also be used to leave a pleasant and clean smell in the decontaminated space.

Extra tips for effective firefighting

  • Always use unscented detergents during the decontamination process to avoid masking odor problems.
  • Increase the temperature of the affected area to make the air molecules more volatile and thus easier to treat.
